West Texas HOG Trip To Big Bend Natl. Park
We arrived in Texas in time to connect with the West Texas HOG Chapter out of Abilene and their annual electric glove trip to the Big Bend Natl. Park. We left on Friday Jan. 15th at 10:30 (I think I was the only rider without electric gloves/vests) and arrived in Terlingua at 4:00. I also know why the chapters out here mention being able to ride in a group at 80 mph (307 miles in 4 hrs. riding time). "Come on boys, lets get it" was the CB call as we sped down the road at 85-90 mph. I spent all of Saturday touring the park with a group or by myself. The terrain in the Park is stunning and unforgettable. The weather was great although I did scrape ice off the seat and windshield on Saturday morning. We left at 7:30 on Sunday morning and was back in San Angelo at 1:15. One rider had a flat tire on Sunday morning so he left the bike a the Border Patrol station outside Alpine.
